Mampong MCE accounts for his first 100 days in office

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Mampong, Mr. Yakubu Issifu, has held a stakeholder engagement with the people of the Municipality to give an account of his first 100 days in office.

Addressing a gathering of traditional authorities and other stakeholders of the Municipality, the MCE reported that he had fulfilled his promise to renovate the Municipal Administration Block, whose dilapidating state had been a concern to both the staff and members of the public.

He said the renovation of the administration block would promote workers’ efficiency and enhance public service delivery in the municipality.

The MCE disclosed that the Assembly had procured various office equipment like color printers, photocopiers, desktop computers and laptops and also announce a series of forthcoming projects, which he said have reached the procurement level.

These projects include a 2-Unit KG Block with ancillary facilities at Sataso, a Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Nintin/Hwediem, seven mechanized and four handpump boreholes in various communities, the supply of 2000 dual desks and 3000 mono desks, the provision of five refuse containers, and the renovation of the MCE’s bungalow.

He believes these projects will improve education, healthcare delivery and sanitation in the beneficiary communities.

On legacy projects, he said a 6-Unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Kofiase Abukari Islamic Primary School and a Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound have been completed.

In his keynote address, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, commended the MCE for Mampong for his exceptional leadership and tireless efforts, describing him as a dynamic leader.

He disclosed that the Municipality will soon get its share of the 24-hour market that the government has promised to build in the MMDAs which will create job opportunities and boost the local economy.
