
The Minister for the Interior, Mr. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has called for renewed partnerships and enhanced collaboration within the security sector to safeguard internal peace and public safety.
He made this call at the opening of a two-day workshop organized by the Ministry of the Interior for newly appointed Ministerial Advisory Board members, Board Chairs, Heads of Agencies, and Deputy Heads of Agencies.
The Minister encouraged stakeholders to adopt a results-driven approach, identify key enablers, and implement effective strategies.
He emphasised the crucial role of the Ministry and its agencies in maintaining internal peace, ensuring public safety, and enforcing the law.
Mr. Muntaka urged Heads of Agencies and Board Chairs to work collaboratively to fulfill their mandates.
He underscored the importance of adopting a problem-solving mindset, identifying enablers, and formulating implementable strategies characterized by urgency, discipline, and foresight.
He stated, “Let us use this workshop as an opportunity for renewed partnership, shared clarity, and actionable progress.”
The Deputy Minister for the Interior, Mr. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, also addressed the gathering, highlighting key areas of focus, including democratic oversight, the National Security Strategy, Public Financial Management, procurement regulations, and corporate governance.
He noted that the workshop serves as a critical platform to forge and strengthen collaboration among the Ministry, its Agencies, and Boards in shaping a unified path forward.
The workshop aims to discuss the programmes and activities of the Ministry and its agencies, enabling participants to familiarize themselves with the sector’s operations and performance.
