
Health Minister inaugurates a 7- member investigation committee to probe alleged medical unethical practices
January 30, 2026 Health 0 CommentThe Health Minister, Mr Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has inaugurated a 7 – member investigation committee to inquire into alleged unethical medical practices at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge).
The committee is also to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of existing governance, oversight, and control systems in preventing unethical and unauthorized practices within the affected health facilities.
The minister disclosed this in a press statement released yesterday in Accra and instructed the committee to deliver its final report and recommendations to the Ministry by February 10, 2026.
Mr. Mintah Akandoh assured the general public of its full cooperation with the committee and reiterates its unwavering commitment to upholding ethical standards and restoring public confidence in Ghana’s healthcare system.
The Investigation Committee is chaired by Alhaji Dr.(Pharm) Inua Yusuf, Esq. – Head/Dir Legal Affairs, Ministry of Health and the following members: Dr. Eric Kofi Ngyedu CEO, Cape Coast Teaching Hospital & Dean of CEOs for Teaching Hospitals, Dr. Adam Abass Neurosurgeon, Tamale Teaching Hospital & President, Ghana Academy of Neurosurgeons.
The rest are Dr. George Sabblah – Deputy CEO (Technical Operations) of Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) & Representative for FDA, Dr. Nicholas Adjabu Biomedical Engineer- Biomedical Engineering Unit, Ministry of Health, Dr. Frederick Kwarteng Representative, Ghana Medical Association (GMA) & Head of Department of Trauma & Orthopedics & Department of Accident and Emergency of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and Prof. John Osae-Kwapong – Democracy and Development Fellow, CDD-Ghana & Rep, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs)
