Ghana Joins 71 Nations in Signing United Nations Cybercrime Convention

Ghana has joined 71 nations in committing to confronting the global threat of cybercrime at the Signing Ceremony of the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime.

The ceremony, held in Hanoi, serves as a shared promise to protect people, economies, and institutions from crimes that thrive in the digital space.

The Ghanaian delegation, led by the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Mr Samuel Nartey George, was joined by distinguished leaders from Ghana and across Africa, reaffirming the country’s unwavering commitment to fostering a safe, trusted, and resilient digital ecosystem.

The Minister emphasised that cybercrime knows no borders, and neither does Ghana’s commitment to combating it.

For Ghana, this moment reinforces the national cyber agenda by enhancing collaboration with global partners, building stronger capacity for law enforcement and justice systems, securing access to digital evidence to fight complex crimes, and deepening partnerships across government, business, and civil society.
