The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has commenced a two-day official visit to Burkina Faso, intending to enhance bilateral relations and deepen cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.
He was received on arrival by his Burkinabè counterpart, His Excellency Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré and the Ambassador of Ghana to Burkina Faso, His Excellency Kenneth Akibate, on Thursday in Burkina Faso.
The minister stated that his visit would enhance security cooperation, intensify political consultations, and bring strategic agreements to consolidate relations between the two countries, particularly in response to evolving regional security challenges.
Before departing from Accra, the Minister visited the 37 Military Hospital to express solidarity and empathy with Ghanaian survivors of the February 14th terrorist attack in Titao, northern Burkina Faso
The victims were airlifted to Accra by the Ghana Air Force and are receiving treatment.
