Coordinating nationwide public education campaigns to enhance citizen awareness, participation, and feedback on government policies and programmes.
The Public Education Coordinating (PEC) Division is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and implementing nationwide public education campaigns to the citizenry on government policies and programmes.
The Division ensures citizens are informed on government deliverables and achievements while also collecting feedback to support effective participation, good governance, and national development.
Functions of PEC Division
- Coordinating and implementing public education campaigns.
- Conducting pre and post monitoring and evaluation on public education campaigns.
- Scouting for relevant public education campaigns.
- Developing proposals and concept notes for public education campaigns.
Education and Sensitization Programme Development Unit
The Unit is responsible for developing and implementing educational and sensitization programmes for the public, ensuring that campaign messages are well-structured, relevant, and impactful.
Functions
- Planning, coordinating, and developing targeted sensitization and educational programmes and materials for each campaign.
- Monitoring and evaluating effectiveness to ensure campaign objectives achieve the desired impact.
- Producing and distributing information materials (flyers, posters, brochures, etc.).
Outreach Unit
The Outreach Unit plays a key role in delivering public education messages to the citizenry through multiple communication channels, ensuring national reach and engagement.
Functions
- Implement sensitization and educational programmes developed for public campaigns.
- Provide Public Address Systems for national, state, and private functions.
- Deploy mobile vans equipped with audio-visual systems to reach remote communities.
- Repair and service public address equipment and mobile vans.
Some Accomplishments of the PEC Division
- Successfully organized public education campaign on the Single Window Citizen Engagement Services (SWCES) in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection in February 2024.
- The Division has been organizing public education campaign on the Ghana National Household Registry for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection since 2016.
- Conducted sensitization campaign on the implementation of the Electronic Transaction Levy (E-Levy) for the Ghana Revenue Authority and Ministry of Finance in May 2022.
- Successfully conducted public education campaign on the need to register for the Ghana Card for the National Identification Authority in November 2019.
- Conducted the Agric Census campaign for the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in April 2018.
- Organized a street announcement project for GRIDCo on the dangers of mounting illegal structures around high-tension poles in June 2024.
