
The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Mr. Samuel Nartey George, has announced the appointment of the newly Deputy Director-General of the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE), Mr. Mohammed Abdul-Aziz (MP).
This was made during a brief meeting at the center, highlighting the government’s commitment to strengthening its efforts in national digital capacity building noting that this appointment is part of broader institutional reforms aimed at improving the coordination and delivery of emerging digital training programs across the country.
He emphasized that the Ministry is preparing to roll out an expanded national digital skills initiative and requires stronger collaboration between its agencies.
Mr. George stated that the new Deputy Director-General will support programme implementation, working closely with the Ministry and relevant agencies to ensure smooth execution and alignment with national priorities.
The Minister urged all stakeholders to provide full support, emphasizing that the coming year will be crucial for advancing Ghana’s digital transformation agenda, especially the One Million Coders Programme.
Mr. Abdul-Aziz expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and assured commitment to collaborate effectively with the leadership of GI-KACE, the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), and the Ministry.
He acknowledged the urgency of his new assignment and pledged to drive the execution of initiatives with vigor and teamwork.
