The European Union Emergency Trust Fund (EUTF) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Ghana are supporting GrEEN Project with 20 million and 600, 000 Euros respectively.
The Skills Development Advisor of the SNV GrEEn Project’s Office in the Ashanti Region, Mrs Gifty Afi Cudjoe, disclosed this at a Job Fair organised by the SNV Netherlands Development Organisation and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) at New Edubiase.
She said the SNV GrEEn Project was in partnership with the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to assist young entrepreneurs to create or grow environmentally friendly Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs).
She said the objective of the project was to support communities and local economies to become green and climate-resilient, adding that it also aimed to improve the ability of women, youth and returnees to take advantage of job opportunities in green and climate friendly businesses.
She hinted that currently, only Ashanti and Western Regions were benefiting from the project.
On his part, Alhaji Nkansah Haruna Hussein, a Deputy Director of the Adansi South District urged the beneficiaries of the project to work hard to reap the full potentials of the project.
