ht to Information Act
The Right to Information (RTI) officer for Adansi North District, Mr Daniel Mensah, has organized a sensitization programme on the RTI Act for students in Fomena TI Ahmadiyya Senior High School (SHS)
The program sought to enlighten students and staff of the school on the Right to Information law (Act 989).
In his presentation, the RTI officer emphasized the significance of the RTI Act in promoting good governance and accountability.
He explained that the Act gives citizens the right to access information held by public institutions, which can be used to hold the government to account.
Mr. Mensah also discussed the different ways in which citizens can request information under the RTI Act, and the fees that may be charged and encouraged the students to use the Act to learn more about how their government works, and to hold it accountable for its actions.
The students and staff of the school were very receptive to the information provided by the RTI officer. They asked many questions about the Act, and expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to learn more about it.
The RTI Act is a powerful tool that can be used to improve the lives of citizens. By raising awareness of the Act and encouraging people to use it, we can help to make our government more transparent, accountable, and responsive to the needs of the people.
