The Right to Information Officer for the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC), Mrs. Josephine Dake-Abrahams embarked on a radio sensitization exercise to sensitize the listening public on the RTI Act.
The exercise which took place at the Global Fm in Ho sought to enlighten the people of the Region on the need to know the Act and how to apply it.
The discussion was centred on the importance and the benefits of the RTI Act, the procedures and processes for applying, the officers responsible for handling the requests at the Public Institutions, exempt information, The Commission set to oversee all RTI activities, fees charged if any, amongst others.
In her remarks, Mrs Dake-Abrahams made the public aware of the passing of the Act in 2019 and also stated that the station has dedicated the whole of July to the sensitization of the Right to Information.
The discussion was a very educative, interesting and interactive one. The host asked very pertinent questions especially regarding the exempt clauses.
