Ministry of Information marks International Customer Service Week

The Ministry of Information has marked International Customer Service Week with a call on agencies under the ministry to ensure that information provided to the public is honest.

The theme for this year’s International Customer Service Week Celebration is “Simply Celebrate Service.”

The Deputy Minister for Information, Madam Fatima Abubakar, who was addressing the staff of the Ministry as well as departments and agencies under the ministry on Monday, stated that the week-long activity is an opportune time to recognize the contribution of the essential people to the front lines who have enabled the works of the Ministry to thrive.

“It is a period to highlight the value of customer client service, discover new service opportunities build stronger relationships and connect with diverse people,” she added.

Madam Abubakar lauded the departments and agencies under the Ministry, for working assiduously to partnering the Ministry to deliver information to the general public.

On her part, the Chief Director of the Ministry of Information, Mrs Mamle Andrews, said customer service is a holistic service which must not only be centred on external clients but also, on internal staff who demand the services from other officers.

Activities earmarked for the weeklong celebration include orientation, distribution of souvenirs to clients, a debate, rep your region costume and games.
