The exercise forms part of the public sensitization programme on the implementation of the RTI Act, 2019 (989)
The sensitization exercise was aimed at formally introducing and educating students and teachers on the Right to Information Act (989).
In his presentation, the officer briefed students on what the Right to Information Act 2019 is about, the importance of the RTI ACT to the ordinally Ghanaian Citizenry, who qualifies to request information, and a few exemptions of the Act.
Mr Awuah explained that, although the public could file seek for information from institutions, not all information were to be given out according to the law governing the RTI Act.
âAccording to section 5 to 16 states Information that is exempt from disclosureâ he emphasised.
He encouraged the public to walk freely to the Information Services Department at Kwadaso Municipal Assembly (KdMA) to request any information about all the public service that falls within the Municipalityâs jurisdiction.
On his part, the Assistant headmaster of the school, Mr.Emmanuel Nii Adjetey expressed gratitude for the sensitization and called for continuous education as such across schools in Ghana. enlightenment on the Right to Information Act
