The Information Service Department (ISD) has held a virtual in-house training on the new performance appraisal, the departmentâs new scheme of service and the civil service code of conduct for all staff across the country.
The three-day training, which started on March 15, 2021, would help officers to familiarise themselves with administrative procedures of the service and also guide them especially, supervisors on complete the new performance appraisal introduce by the Office of Head of Civil Service.
Mr Charles Wereko, the Director of ISD cautioned staff not to wait till when they are due for promotion before they fill appraisal forms, saying every staff is mandated to fill the forms at beginning of the year to guide their performance.
While condemning the apathetic attitude of some staff when it comes to the completion of the appraisal forms, he commended the Finance and Administration Division for occasionally training members of staff on how to fill the forms properly.
âWe have seen some improvements in the filling of the staff appraisal form lately,â he added.
He asked Division, Section and Units heads to meet every member of staff they are working with and specify targets for them at the beginning of every year.
He urged staff to take the training seriously and reap the benefits therein.
