The Minister for the Interior, Mr. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has urged newly appointed members of the National Identification Authority (NIA) Governing Board to work diligently towards fulfilling the mandate of providing a secure and reliable identification system for all Ghanaians.
He made this call during the swearing-in ceremony of the reconstituted Governing Board of NIA on Thursday in Accra.
The Minister emphasized the Board’s critical role in guiding the NIA’s mission to enhance the national identification system and expressed confidence in their ability to support national security initiatives as well as contribute to the country’s socio-economic development.
The Chairman of the NIA Board Mr. Moses Afetsi Positive, pledged their commitment and promised to promote transparency and collaboration throughout their tenure.
Other members of the Board include Dr. Gifty Seiwaa Nyarko, Mr. Eric Coffie, Mr. Wisdom Kwaku Deku, Mr. Kwesi Afreh Biney, Mr. Philip Peter Andoh, Mr. Samuel Adom Botchway, Dr. Senanu Kwesi Djokoto, Mrs. Rosemary Parker and Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu.
The reconstituted Board is expected to provide strategic direction and oversight to the NIA as it continues its efforts to deliver efficient and high-quality identification services to the public.
