This follows seven confirmed cases with three recorded deaths of the virus in Guinea.
In a statement signed by the Director-General of GHS, Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye said all Regional and District Public Health Emergency Management Committees have been instructed to include EVD responsive plan on their agenda to contain the virus should it enter the country.
All Metropolitan, Municipal and District health facilities are to consult their respective Health Director if they want to transfer EVD suspected cases, it added
The statement also directed the general public not to transport any suspected EVD cases with public or private transport.
It also urged the general public to avoid contact with blood and fluids of persons who show symptoms of the virus, adding that major symptoms of the suspected cases include unexplained bleeding from the nose, gums, vagina, skin or eyes, muscle pains, headache, fatigue, fever, as well as vomiting and diarrhoea.
It further advised the public to wash their hands regularly with soap, apply hand sanitizer and also avoid contact with animals, desist from eating bush meat and refrain from touching dead bodies of suspected or confirmed Ebola cases.
âRegional, District health facilities, health units at all border posts, particularly, along the Western border and all landing beaches are to heighten surveillance for EVD,â it said.
