On Friday, June 14th, 2024, a team of experts led by Dr. Isaac Owusu, an optometrist with Imprexion Eye Care (an accredited DVLA Eye Test Center), conducted free eye screenings for staff of the Information Services Department. In keeping with the department’s commitment to social responsibility, food vendors operating near the department were also invited to participate.
Approximately 60 staff members and vendors took advantage of the free screenings. The examinations included checks for common eye conditions like refractive errors, allergies, presbyopia, glaucoma, cataracts, and age-related macular degeneration. Staff requiring further treatment received referrals to specialists or prescriptions for medication and corrective lenses.
Madam Augustina E. Agyeman, Head of the Human Resource Division, highlighted that the initiative reflects the department’s dedication to promoting staff well-being, fostering a healthier work environment, and ensuring staff have the necessary support to excel in their roles.
