The Minister for Roads and Highways, Mr Kwame Agbodza, has assured the Chief and people of Sissala that government will complete the Wa-Tumu-Bolgatanga Road corridor under the âBig Pushâ Initiative.
During his working tour to the region on Saturday, he stated that the government will ensure the completion of the road corridor before the end of his tenure.
âItâs not just a promise; itâs a social contract,â the Minister said.
He emphasized that despite all other road projects, President Mahama has selected some key projects which he has classified as the âMahama Infrastructure Planâ and this corridor was part of it.
âThis represents his firm social contract with the people of Sissala,â he reiterated.
Mr Agbodza, while leading his team of engineers to inspect the corridor noted that they were conducting a confirmation inspection tour of all these roads before the commencement of work on them by June.
He encouraged contractors already working on the corridor to expedite efforts to ensure the road was completed within two years.
âThose contractors who are still on site, keep pushing. You will be the first to be considered for more jobs. We acknowledge that we owe you, and itâs not easy, the minister said.
âBut keep the faith and continue working as much as you can. We will settle those debts and provide you with more jobs,â he emphasized.
