The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Mr Samuel Nartey George has met with a local tech enthusiast, Malfred Kwame Kudu who has been recognized for his extraordinary skills in device repair.
During the meeting on Wednesday in Accra, the Minister was enthused about Kudu’s potentials and was hoping for a partnership that would provide employment avenues for many people.
He reiterated, “The Ministry is excited about the possibility of working together to create a program for mutual benefit. We are thrilled to see the talent and innovation that exists in our country.”
Mr. George emphasized his commitment to exploring ways to support and empower individuals like Kudu, who are making a positive impact in the tech industry.
“The Ministry is committed to promoting digitalization and innovation and this partnership could be a significant step towards achieving those goals,” he added.
Kudu has gained international attention for his innovative technique of re-engineering iPhones to accept global SIM cards, an achievement he recently showcased on social media. He described his journey as a testament to self-teaching and dedication.
Kudu’s journey began at Kumasi Secondary Technical School, where he studied applied electricity. His self-taught expertise, developed through YouTube tutorials and online courses, has allowed him to turn a passion for technology into a successful venture, repairing devices for teachers and peers alike.
His commitment to education and skill development has motivated him to envision a platform where others can learn and enhance their technical abilities.
